Preschool Dance Classes

  • Preschool Program

For dancers 18m through 6y, our Preschool Program is uniquely created to provide dancers the building blocks needed to participate in a structured class, follow instruction, develop confidence and self-esteem and learn through having fun.

  • Toddler Classes (18mo - 3y)

Your tiny dancer will get an engaging introduction to dance in a classroom setting with energetic music, dance games, obstacle courses, and fun props! Children have a great time learning while developing coordination, large motor and listening skills, musicality, and learning to follow along with a teacher. Little dancers will burn through tons of energy as we dance. (Parents requested to stay on site & participate as needed!)

  • Tiny Stars (2.5y - 3.5y)

Watch your little dancer take an engaging class all by themselves in our Tiny Stars program! Little dancers will feel like a “real dancer” as they begin learning ballet basics. Dancers will gain confidence taking class without a parent present. Your child will blossom each week with teachers who nurture their development, encourage their growth and celebrate their success.

  • Mini Stars (3y - 5y)

Our Mini Stars program is perfect for your Pre-K dancer! With the addition of combo classes, your child will begin to explore different styles of dance beyond Ballet including Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic Arts & Hip Hop.

  • Kinder Stars (5y - 6y)

Your child will feel like “one of the big kids” as they learn more challenging techniques in our Kinder Stars program! Dancers are nurtured by their positive and encouraging teacher who will gently introduce them to more structure which will benefit them both inside and outside the dance room! Dancers love dancing and playing fun games which help develop strength, flexibility, and balance. With more focus on proper placement and technique, dancers will feel a huge sense of accomplishment as they improve.

  • Sing, Dance, Play (3y - 6y)

This fun weekly mini camp combines imaginative play, singing, movement, and crafting to introduce and establish the building blocks of the performing arts, foster creativity, and nurture self-esteem. Through positive and imaginative class experiences, our students will develop confidence, learn new skills and have fun!

Youth Dance Classes

  • Youth Dance Program

Older dancers begin to explore a variety of dance styles in our Youth Program while continuing to develop their technical skills.

  • Ballet

In youth ballet, dancers begin to move through the basic structure of a standard ballet class, including barre and center practice, while greatly expanding their knowledge of movement and terminology. Dancers will solidify basic movements and develop greater awareness of technical elements, as well as gain an appreciation and enjoyment of the movement.

  • Jazz

Jazz dance for children is a joyful, high-energy dance form. Students will gain strength, coordination, rhythm, and flexibility while learning the fundamentals of classical jazz techniques.

  • Tap

A rhythmic form of dance incorporating single and double sound steps. These classes increase musicality, comfort with rhythm, balance, and coordination.

  • Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is an exciting jazz-based class filled with Broadway-style dancing and music. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.

  • Contemporary

Contemporary dance is an organic, expressive style where the dancers explore freedom of movement, allowing their bodies to express their feelings and tell stories. The movement style ranges from sharp and fast to gooey and fluid and is performed to a wide range of music.

Acrobatic Arts

  • Kinesis Dance is proud to have two Acrobatic Arts certified teachers. The Acrobatic Arts program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage!

What should my dancer wear?

For all dance classes, long hair must be pulled back and off the neck in a ponytail, braid or bun. It is important that your dancer can see while they learn to twirl! We ask that all jewelry be left at home for dance class as it is unsafe and also we would be sad if anything special were to get lost! Please note that jeans and jean shorts are not appropriate for any form of dance.

Clothing Requirements

Toddler Classes, Tiny Stars, & Mini Stars Programs

Dancers wear clothing that is comfortable and safe to move around in. This can include shorts, leggings, tank tops or t-shirts as well as any form of dancewear like leotards or dance dresses. Shoes are optional for this age, however many dancers find joy in their first pair of ballet slippers! Also, we encourage self expression at this age - so anything that is safe to dance in is welcome in class! (We love seeing your dancers' creativity and personality shine through their outfit choices!)
